When you’re younger, you don’t have to think about the consequences of your actions – that’s half the fun about growing up! As you get older though, some of your choices can come back to bite you. Getting enough sleep now just won’t cut it, but thankfully there is a way to counteract this result! Avante Plastic Surgery can help you appear more refreshed and youthful with Under Eye Filler in Houston. Below we have provided more information to help you understand the treatment and decide if it’s something you’re interested in.

About Under Eye Filler

Under Eye Fillers, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston

Under Eye Filler, also called Tear Trough Filler, is a cosmetic treatment that treats the darker circles and hollows under your eyes using Hyaluronic Acid (HA) also referred to as dermal fillers. What is also called deep tear troughs, this affliction can create shadows that look darker than the rest of your skin, resulting in a tired or sunken look with deep indentations. It is widely considered one of the hardest areas to fill because of the skill required to deliver to the right layer, as well as the variability in results.

HA is a compound that your body makes daily to give skin hydration and fullness. Fillers use these properties by formulating HA into a gel, which can be used to add volume in key locations. Your body will naturally absorb the filler over time until your appearance is back to the way it was unless you get maintenance treatments, however, the under eyes tend to be an area that retains filler very well over time.

Benefits of Under Eye Filler

There are so many benefits to Under Eye Filler, but these are some that our Houston patients regularly see:

  • Diminishes skin sagging under the eyes
  • Instant results
  • No downtime
  • Prevents the tired look and rejuvenates the eyes
  • Quick treatment
  • Reduces dark circles
  • Reduces lines and wrinkles under the eyes.
  • Replaces lost volume under eyes

Ideal Candidate

The best candidates for Under Eye Filler in Houston are those who are in good general health, maintain realistic expectations, and keep a positive attitude throughout their experience. Some other factors that can make a good candidate include patients experiencing the following:

  • Have good skin thickness and elasticity
  • Hollowed-out eyes, including medial cheek
  • Mild to moderate under bags

If you suffer from having malar festoons (which are located further below the eyelids, more on the upper cheek, and characterized by puffy swelling), we, unfortunately, can not recommend this treatment for you, but may still be able to help. To find out if you’re a viable candidate, please schedule your consultation with Dr. Ahmadi.

First Step for Under Eye Fillers

Under Eye Fillers, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston

If you are interested in getting Under Eye Filler in Houston, the first step you need to take is to contact Avante Plastic Surgery and schedule your consultation. When you come in for this appointment, you will meet with Dr. Ahmadi to discuss your treatment goals, ask any questions you may have, and have the area under your eyes examined. You will also be asked some questions regarding your medical history and lifestyle, so it is very important to be open and honest with him to prevent any unnecessary risks. Once he has the information he needs, Dr. Ahmadi will create your treatment plan and if you agree with it, we can perform the filler on the same day, or our Patient Coordinator can help you schedule an appointment at a later date.

Expectations

When it’s time for your Under Eye Filler treatment, it will be performed in our office so you will first make yourself comfortable in our reclining chair. Your skin will be disinfected to prevent any infection and a topical anesthetic will be applied under your eyes so that you have a more tolerable experience. In some situations, we may also offer an ice pack to place against your lower eyelids. Both techniques will numb the treated area and help reduce pain.

Dr. Ahmadi will begin by taking a syringe containing the filler and injecting it into the skin beneath your lower eyelid(s). He will then carefully withdraw the needle, followed by lightly massaging the area to help spread the filler around. If the two of you are satisfied with the results, he will move on to the other eyelid if needed and repeat the process.

Recovery

Once you are finished with your injections, you will be able to return home. We strongly recommend having a ride available because you may have difficulty seeing due to potential bruising, swelling, and redness. These symptoms are to be expected and should begin to dissipate over the next few days.

You will want to avoid intense activity for the next few days and use an ice bag during that time to reduce swelling and discomfort. You will also need to avoid sleeping face down for a few days so you don’t accidentally move the filler around. If you feel any lumpy areas, you can lightly massage them with your fingers. We will provide you with all of the post-treatment directions you’ll need to achieve your optimal appearance.

Cost of Under Eye Filler in Houston, TX

The cost of Under Eye Fillers in Houston is entirely based on how much filler is needed, among a few other factors. After meeting with Dr. Ahmadi and letting him evaluate to create your customized treatment plan, our Patient Coordinator will be able to provide you with a cost breakdown for your procedure.

FAQ

Is under eye filler painful?

Thanks to the topical anesthetic we provide, most patients find the treatment very tolerable. While some patients may experience some mild discomfort when receiving their injections, the treatment is very quick.

How many appointments will I need?

You should only need one treatment to see results, but some patients may require a secondary session to see the best results. Please keep in mind that this is not a permanent fix, so if you would like to maintain your appearance, you should consider scheduling a maintenance session every eight to ten months as your body naturally absorbs the filler.

How Long until I see results?

While you may be able to see immediate results, most patients require a week or so to see their final results.

Can I combine under eye filler with other procedures?

Many of our Houston Under Eye Filler patients will combine their treatment with other facial cosmetic treatments, such as BOTOX or Dermal Fillers. If you are unsure of what we offer and would like the expert suggestion of Dr. Ahmadi, please bring up your aesthetic goals during your consultation and he will be more than happy to discuss your options.
